What is RJS Exam?
The RJS exam likely refers to the Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) Exam. It's an exam conducted by the Rajasthan High Court or the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to recruit candidates for the judicial service in the state of Rajasthan, India. The exam is held to select candidates for various judicial positions such as Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Civil Judge (Senior Division) in the subordinate judiciary of Rajasthan. The exam typically consists of multiple stages including preliminary examination, mains examination, and interview. Rajasthan Judiciary examination takes place in three stages, the Prelims, the mains and the interview stage. For anyone to become a judge in Rajasthan they have to clear all the three stages of the examination. For every examination Rajasthan Judiciary releases the updated pattern of the examination along with the syllabus, marking scheme and subject lists for prelims, mains and interview.
Exam Stages:
Preliminary Examination
The preliminary examination is the first stage of the RJS exam. It is usually objective in nature and tests candidates on subjects such as law, general knowledge, and current affairs. The purpose of this stage is to shortlist candidates for the mains examination.
Mains Examination
Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination move on to the mains examination. The mains examination is usually subjective and tests candidates on various aspects of law including substantive law and procedural law. It may also include language proficiency tests. The mains examination is designed to assess the comprehensive understanding and application of legal principles.
Interview (Viva Voce)
Candidates who clear the mains examination are called for an interview or viva voce. This stage assesses the candidate's personality, communication skills, and suitability for the judicial service. It is usually conducted by a panel of experts.

Yes, a person from any state in India can become a judge in the Rajasthan judiciary, provided that they meet the eligibility criteria and clear the selection process.
No. The preparation for Prelims is undertaken as per the paper pattern which is notified in the notification for the exam every year. Since, the Prelims stage is a multiple choice question type stage, the preparation is done accordingly as per one’s own study pattern which suits them. There is no set number of hours or schedule as capability of each candidate varies and requires a different strategy to crack the exam.
The marks in each stage of the Rajasthan Judicial Services Examination expire in each attempt and are NOT carried forward in any circumstance. Therefore, even if you crack the Prelims and move to the Mains stage in one attempt, but somehow fail to crack the Mains subsequently, then next year if you wish to sit for the Rajasthan Judicial Services Examination, you have to again sit for all the stages starting from the Prelims and thereafter advance accordingly.
There is no standard answer to this question. However, candidates must keep this in mind that preparation for the Rajasthan Judicial Services Examination people cannot just prepare in a few months. It should be a proper study plan with not just Prelims stage in mind but as a whole including all three stages together.
